The Chamber for the Examination of Oppositions was established pursuant to Article 193 of Law No. 9947, dated 07.07.2008, “On Industrial Property,” as amended, for the review of requests submitted to the General Directorate of Industrial Property (GDIP), based on Articles 143, 151/a, 152, 153, and 153/a of the aforementioned Law “On Industrial Property,” as amended.
The Chamber for the Examination of Oppositions is responsible for reviewing opposition requests and observations. It is a structure established within the examination unit and consists of three members of this unit, appointed by the Director General.
The Chamber began its activity following the entry into force, on 06.06.2018, of Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 315, dated 31.05.2018, “On the Approval of the Regulation on Trademarks,” which provides for the administrative procedure for the examination of requests addressed to this Chamber.
