The Chamber for Revocation and Invalidity is a structure established within the General Directorate of Industrial Property (GDIP), in accordance with Article 193/a of Law No. 9947, dated 07.07.2008, “On Industrial Property,” as amended.
The Chamber is responsible for the administrative examination of:
  • requests for the revocation of trademarks
  • requests for the declaration of invalidity of trademarks
  • observations filed on absolute grounds against published trademark applications
  • appeals against decisions refusing trademark registration or elements thereof, where the refusal is based on absolute grounds.
The examination of requests submitted to the Chamber for Revocation and Invalidity is based on the provisions of Law No. 52/2025 “On Trademarks,” as well as on the by-laws issued for its implementation.
