The General Directorate of Industrial Property (GDIP), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), organized a seminar on the International Patent System (PCT), aiming to enhance professional capacities and internationalize Albanian innovation.
The seminar, held on December 16-17, 2025, was attended by the GDIP staff as well as representatives from the Industrial Property Office of North Macedonia, serving as an important platform for exchanging experiences and best practices in the field of industrial property.
On December 18, 2025, the event continued with informative sessions involving representatives from universities, innovation centers, and innovation agencies, under the theme “Taking Albanian Innovation Global with the International Patent System of the PCT.” The goal was to bring the PCT system closer to the academic community and innovators.
The purpose of this seminar was to strengthen knowledge of international patenting procedures, raise awareness about the importance of protecting inventions, and promote the use of the PCT system as a strategic tool for bringing Albanian innovation to global markets.
The event was welcomed by the Acting Director General of GDIP, Mrs. Bollano, who highly appreciated this seminar as a significant contribution to the development of knowledge and professional skills in the field of industrial property.
This seminar represents an important step towards the internationalization of Albanian innovation and the strengthening of professional capacities in the field of industrial property.
